SERENE BREWS CAFE
The design of the café is inspired by the idea of gradual retreat from the chaos of the outside world. As customers move deeper into the space, the design elements subtly shift, becoming more intimate and quiet. The seating areas are arranged in a way that promotes privacy, yet still fosters community and conversation for those who desire it. In this way, the café offers a flexible environment—ideal for both quiet moments of solitude and meaningful social interaction.

The design also aims to evoke the comfort of familiar memories, which can be especially beneficial for individuals with memory-related conditions. The decor and furniture selections are inspired by soft textures and organic shapes, which create a homelike and comforting atmosphere. Plants and natural materials have been incorporated throughout the space to further enhance this sense of serenity and connection with nature.

The Alzheimer's Society, a not-for-profit organization from the United Kingdom, is partnering with the Alzheimer's Association in North America to create Memory Cafes. The main goal of this project is not awareness about Alzheimer's specifically, but rather to encourage all people to engage and cherish their memories. By helping everyone develop a deeper sense of their personal memories, the hope is that it will allow them to build an appreciation for the fragile and fleeting nature of personal memories.

The memory I chose to incorporate into my cafe is from going on a recent trip to Europe. When we arrived in Santorini, Greece after walking around the rest of Europe, I was finally able to take a moment for myself to relax. The goal of the project was to create a feeling of finally being able to relax and escape from everyday life.
