HEIGHTS WINERY
The fundamental purpose of wine consumption is for enjoyment. Wine is a hedonistic beverage and there are deep emotional connections between consumers and wine, and it is usually imbibed in social settings. In tasting, the perceptual-sensory experience (sight, smell, taste) results in a combination of emotions.

Create an experience evoking different emotions for the visitors as they journey through the space, leaving a wonderful lasting impression, just like the finish of a fine wine. The design solution correlates the process of tasting wine with our emotions, creating spaces that stimulate visitors’ emotions. Creating an immersive experience for the visitors that helps them to bond with the winery and the wine-tasting process.

The project involves the design of a winery tasting room, meeting and dining facility, and retail space situated in Sonoma County, California. This facility will be housed in two buildings on the winery site, which will be renovated to meet the specific program requirements of the project.

To create a space that enhances the visitor experience, we will conduct comprehensive research into the culture of Wine Country, exploring how the experience of wine tasting can differ from one area to another. Understanding the evolution of the California wine industry is crucial, as it has undergone significant changes throughout its history. We will examine how different regions within the state distinguish themselves through unique varietals, wine-making techniques, and cultural narratives.
